About Tom…
I'm Tom,
A 30-something photographer living by the sea in (mostly) sunny Portsmouth.
I’ve lived here all my life and love calling this little island my home.
I live in a 1930’s semi with my wonderful wife Rowena and a mischievous whippet called Max.
Anyone that knows me will tell you I talk (alot) and probably too fast, so I’ll apologise for that now.
I’m proud to say I’ve been a photographer since I graduated from university in 2009. I honed my skills shooting bands in sweaty gig venues before moving over to weddings and going full-time in 2015.
Since that very first wedding, I’ve photographed over 350 celebrations across the UK and overseas in all seasons and probably most weather conditions you could imagine!
“On a day where my nerves were in absolute pieces,
Tom came in and totally put me at ease.
He was an absolute pleasure to have document our wedding day.”
— Malcolm & Natasha, June 2021.
A few things you should probably know…
I LOVE being by the sea and could never live anywhere that’s more than 10 mins from the water.
I’ve recently become a cold-water therapy convert and have a pod in my garden that I sit in most mornings.
I brought a Vespa scooter with my first student loan and it’s still best way to get around town. I even had the mirrors and donned a green parka for a good few years too!
Dark rum will always be my drink of choice, or maybe a dark & stormy if we’re talking cocktails.
I don’t trust people that don’t like dogs and will always advocate for you to have your dog at your wedding.
I have a huge passion for music and am lucky enough to have met & photographed alot of my favourite artists at various gigs and festivals across the UK. (That’s me and my hero Paul Weller).
For around 10 years I co-hosted an indie music show on a local radio station and pride my knowledge of mid-00’s guitar bands as being pretty damn good!
I enjoy going for a run (well…more of a jog), I’ve ran Brighton Marathon twice now, but managed to get slower each time!
Back in the day I trained as a professional wrestler in the UK, but that’s definitely a story for the bar!
Your experience is everything.
I want to be as open as I can with everyone I photograph in the hope that you’ll return the favour and give some of yourselves to me when I shoot your wedding.
Natural photographs only work when you feel totally at ease and hopefully by sharing some things about myself, you’re already feeling more at home.
Relatability is the key to a great experience and finding a photographer that you connect with on a personal level is a huge part of that.
Hopefully after looking at this page, you’re already seeing things we have in common and how I could fit right in at your wedding.
Now that you know all about me as a person, do you want to know how I apply all of this when it comes to actually photographing your day?
